Hall of Famer JoAnne Carner has called it a career in the USGA, and ‘Big Mama' is sure to enjoy watching golf after this. Carner shot 83 (her current age) at the U.S. Senior Women’s Open then declared her USGA career is over after. Carner said she won’t compete at Waverly Country Club next year because it took too much work to get her game in shape this year. No woman has won more USGA titles than Carner, who has eight and collected her first in 1956. However, Carner won’t be hanging up her clubs, not just yet as she’s excited to tee it up with older sister Helen Sherry, 91, who took up the game at 70 and walked every hole at NCR.
