Searching for his first win on American soil, English pro Matthew Fitzpatrick finally nailed it this time. It's his 1st PGA Tour win, a major title by-the-way, defeating current #1 Scottie Scheffler and rising star Will Zalatoris by 1-shot at the 2022 US Open at The Country Club in Massachusetts. He received a congratulatory call from Jack Nicklaus after his biggest victory to date. Fitzpatrick closed with a 2-under-par 68 to finish at 6 under while Zalatoris signed for a 69 and Scheffler a 67 as both wound up at 5 under.
