If there is a golf term like ‘fake' golf swing, then it's more like a bad swing. You really can't spot a ‘fake' swing but you can definitely differentiate a good swing from a bad one. If you're faking this downswing, maybe you're doing it the wrong way. A good swing is done by properly rotating your body but never forget that you need to in the correct position, as well as the right weight shift in order for you to execute a perfect swing.
