Does using a graphite putter shaft make you a better putter?

Graphite putter shafts have been a common trend among golfers these days but the real question is does it really improve your putting game? On the other hand, graphite is much lighter and shaft companies can layer sheets of material at different angles and use different blends to increase or decrease stiffness while keeping the weight the same.
